Top 3 Reasons Women are Leaving their Current Employer

The top 3 reasons why women are looking to leave their current employer according to Deloitte's Women at Work Report for 2023?

🤷‍♀️ Lack of flexibility around when I work
🤷‍♀️ Role doesn't offer a positive work/life balance
🤷‍♀️ Lack of training and development opportunities

I delved into this earlier this morning and wow... For context on the group size - 5000 women globally from 10 countries.

97% of survey respondents feel that asking for flexibility at work would adversely affect their chance of promotion. Please read that again!! 97% 😮

The first time I requested a 4-day week it was rejected. Even though at the time, I was onboarding a new person into the team who had that exact thing. The mind boggles (and the decision was overturned).

Is flexibility at work really too much to ask? Some ways it could be introduced:

- Shorter work week
- Term time hours
- Job Sharing (big fan here!)
- Shorter working hours or condensing them

These adaptions can work for the entire workplace - not just women but the impact that they can have on women and retaining them within the workplace has massive potential.

Higher retention rates.
Loyalty.
Higher productivity.
More fulfilled at work.

Who couldn't want that as an employer?

* There are lots more insights in the report - link in comments. Here, I'm focusing on flexibility but there are plenty more to share*
